In this workshop, we’ll look at how to make audio components using gen~. Patches written in gen~ support single-sample delay, which make it possible to build certain functionality that would be impossible in vanilla Max. When we're done, we’ll see how to export code from gen~ and compile that to a VST and Audio Unit. If you want to patch along, then in addition to Max 8 you should also install JUCE, which is available for free here https://shop.juce.com/get-juce. To test your audio plugin, you should ensure that you have an application on your computer that can act as a VST plugin host. Max itself will fulfill this role, as will most DAW's.
